CarshowTracker is a community platform for discovering, hosting, and following car shows and enthusiast events. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect
CarshowTracker collects information you provide directly to us, including your name, email address, profile photo, and any content you post such as events, garage vehicles, photos, comments, and community topics.
When you create or RSVP to events, we collect the event details you provide, including location information. When you opt in, we may collect your home location and current location so we can show nearby events and send relevant alerts.
If you sign in with Google, we receive the basic profile information your Google account shares with us (name and email address).
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to operate and improve CarshowTracker: to show you relevant events, to power your dashboard, garage, and profile, to connect you with other enthusiasts, and to send the notifications you have opted into.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Advertising on the app is sponsor-driven, and sponsors see aggregate or anonymized metrics only — never your personal data.
Notifications & Permissions
CarshowTracker may send push notifications and email updates you explicitly opt into — for example, nearby event alerts, RSVP confirmations, and community activity.
You can manage or disable notifications at any time through your device settings or the notification preferences in the app. You can also opt out of location-based features at any time.
Cookies & Authentication
We use authentication cookies (better-auth sessions) to keep you signed in and secure your account. These are essential to the app’s operation.
Third-party login (Google Sign-In) occurs on Google’s own domains, governed by Google’s privacy policy.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure servers (MongoDB) hosted in data centers we control. We follow industry-standard practices to protect your information, including encrypted connections in transit.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or request deletion, we will remove your personal information, subject to any legal or operational retention requirements.
